22.03.2020

Another client has chosen our proven ISOCube system and considers it to be the optimal docking solution for his specific requirements.

Our customer, the DELFI company from Vendeville in the north of France was looking for a docking system that meets both, the high safety requirements applicable in France and the special thermal and hygienic requirements. PROMStahl’s tailor-made solution is highly appreciated not only by the final customer but also by the French authority responsible for work safety and security: They visited the site and evaluated it to be a potential model facility for safe and secure docking.

So blieb PROMStahl seinem Leitspruch während der Messe treu: Qualität hat einen Namen.

First PROMStahl-ISOCube docking system installed in France

Another client has chosen our proven ISOCube system and considers it to be the optimal docking solution for his specific requirements.

Our customer, the DELFI company from Vendeville in the north of France was looking for a docking system that meets both, the high safety requirements applicable in France and the special thermal and hygienic requirements.

PROMStahl’s tailor-made solution is highly appreciated not only by the final customer but also by the French authority responsible for work safety and security: They visited the site and evaluated it to be a potential model facility for safe and secure docking.

The reason for this is the combination of safe and fast docking including the safety zone highly recommended in France with an intelligent vehicle detection system with height-adjustable buffers (PGV) guaranteeing efficient vehicle positioning.

The sequence of a docking process is as follows: After the truck has docked in, the safety wheel chock (PZK) is positioned, the industrial door (PDAI) is opened and the dock shelter (PWI2) is automatically inflated. Then the height-adjustable buffers are lowered. Subsequently, it is possible to open the rear doors of the truck by bridging the safety zone by pressing the ADVANCE button of the dock leveler control box (PAT2). The driver and the warehouse staff are constantly being informed about the status of the loading / unloading process by means of the traffic lights system that includes a vehicle detection system (PBEA*).

After completion of the loading / unloading process, the dock leveler returns to its truck door closing position by pressing the additional ADVANCE button. Subsequently, the leveler returns to its resting position by pressing the AUTO button. Finally, the height-adjustable buffers are lifted to their topmost position. It is only now that the industrial door can be closed. This sequence guarantees a safe dock-in process for the next vehicle.

After the industrial door has been closed and the dock shelter automatically deflated, the traffic lights are blinking (red / green) indicating the driver that the loading / unloading process has been completed but that the wheel chock is still positioned under the truck wheel.

Finally, the wheel chock is taken away from under the wheel and positioned in the related support. Now the external traffic lights become green and show the driver that he can leave the docking station.

The housing was delivered without cladding (PLSX) because it was supplied by a local company. It goes without saying that PROMStahl can also deliver the housing with cladding, either un-insulated or insulated.

Since the yard situation was very special, the docking systems have been built as 90° and 45° versions. That’s why the steelwork of the step-version ramps (PAT2) and the housings (PLSX) have been adapted by an angular platform (PAP) and the required extension of the housing (PLSX).
